The most famous version of this song is in the \u201cAmazing Grace\u201d album by Aretha Franklyn & The Southern California Gospel Choir<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We discovered after much time that Inez Andrews, author of this version of a traditional hymn, has walked the path of the history of the Gospel we love most, a path traced first by T.A. Dorsey. She walked together with James Cleveland, Shirley Caesar, Albertina Walker, Delores Washington e Dorothy Norwood, and this discovery has given a sense to our desire to sing with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The way she narrates the scripture is closer to a family narration more than to a sermon. A story narrated together, in front of the fireplace, or better at the kitchen table, sat on granny\u2019s knees, on the knees of the very key pillar of Afro-American families. In this way Lazarus, Martha and Mary become popular characters, familiar ones, and pass from the Bible\u2019s page directly in our home\u2019s rooms, and they tell us form their heart their story of Love and Salvation. \u0003\u0001<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
